Running courses have iconic markers: Boston has Heartbreak Hill, London has Tower Bridge, and the Borough of Brooklyn has its beloved neighborhoods.

The route of the Brooklyn Half Marathon weaves its way through one of the most radically and culturally diverse areas in America. From Prospect Park to Coney Island, humanity has found its way to Brooklyn. To honor the spirit of this community, DUMBO’s United Photo Industries has assembled an outstanding field of Brooklyn-based photographers who have captured their hometown in all its unique glory.

These 10 photographers are prime examples of the diverse population that makes Brooklyn their home. In the words of one of the many road signs one meets when driving into our Borough:

WELCOME TO BROOKLYN
HOME TO EVERYONE FROM EVERYWHERE!
